Musicville: Green European Opera | The Story of Being – A Monument to Tenderness

The third and final act of the contemporary opera Musicville called “Monument of Tenderness” will be held from October 4 to 5, 2024 at Petrovac – the highest peak of Petrova Gora. The performance will take place over two days, with the grand finale on October 4, 2024 in front of the Monument to the Uprising of the People of Banija and Kordun at sunset starting at 6 p.m., followed by a MOJO family picnic with radio Yammat.fm. The next day, October 5, 2024 at 10 a.m., join a performative audio-visual walk as an epilogue along the Roman Path trail starting in front of the Muljava hunting lodge.

About the performance:
“The cult Monument to the Uprising of the People of Banija and Kordun, an evocative symbol frozen in time, a silent witness to the courage of fighters for justice during World War II, stands on the top of Petrova Gora. This monumental structure, perched on the highest peak of the mountain range, serves as a moving testimony to the enduring spirit of resilience and unity. A multitude of contemporary and classic elements merge in the final act of Musicville, combining environmental protection, nature, local stories and traditions through the delicate alchemy of light and melody. As visitors embark on a contemplative stroll along the surrounding trails, they are encouraged to engage with their profound stories, creating new connections and memories amidst the ancient forests of Petrova Gora.”

MUSICVILLE – Contemporary Opera in Three Acts and Three Countries: An Immersive, Immersive Musical Experience.

Musicville is a European project between Slovenia, Austria and Croatia that transforms the classical European musical form of opera through innovative and creative collaboration. The result is three different stories inspired by environmental awareness, nature, local history and tradition.

Program:
On Friday, 04.10.2024, starting at 6 p.m., Bakić’s monument will wake up at the top of Petrova Gora with a contemporary audio-visual performance of fifteen artists, accompanied by the Musicville band and surprise guests.

The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy experimental ethno melodies produced exclusively for Musicville, with never-before-seen visuals and scenery that will activate the senses and stage scenes of the Monument of Tenderness, and discover which mystical creature moves through the forest, rustles trees and envelops the monument. The music, performance and visuals are signed by Musicville artists in collaboration with Ivan Marušić Klif and mentors Sara Renar, Vasko Atanasovski and Karola Sakotnik.

After the performance, the audience will be activated by Yammat’s MOJO Sound System family picnic with the already iconic set by Ivona Kovačević, and on Yammat you will be able to listen to a live stream of all the events of the Musicville finale.

After the grand finale, on Saturday, 05.10.2024 at 10 a.m., there will be an epilogue, a guided sound walk along the educational hiking trail Roman Path, which starts from the Muljava hunting lodge, with the opportunity for an organized visit to the monument and breathtaking views from the top of Veliki Petrovac.

REMARK:

Dear visitors,
We are closely monitoring the forecast and hoping for dry weather, but in case of rain, the performance of Musicville: Monument of Tenderness will be performed at the foot of the Bakić monument under the canopy, across from the parking lot.
We invite you to bring raincoats and shoes suitable for rainy weather, and a lot of positive and gentle energy. Let’s thank our ancestors and forest creatures for their wisdom and care through movement and music, and see you on October 4th at 7 pm on Petrova gora.
